Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of a virtual exchange programme in enhancing English proficiency and intercultural communication among learners in non-English speaking countries. Through a mixed-methods approach, the research evaluated pre-and post-engagement competencies of participants over an eight-week period. Results indicated significant improvements in intercultural communication and English language skills, despite challenges such as technological limitations and time zone differences. In summary, the study highlights the potential of virtual exchange programmes for fostering cultural understanding and language development in tertiary education, advocating for further exploration in diverse intercultural settings.
