Reading is a fundamental skill that shapes students' academic journeys, influencing their performance across subjects. This study explores the impact of the reading intervention in improving the reading proficiency and English performance of elementary students at Calape Central Elementary School, Bohol. Implemented from AY 2016 to 2018, the program was a collaboration between Bohol Island State University - Calape Campus, Couples for Christ (CFC) - ANCOP, and the Department of Education. Using a quantitative research design, the study involved 59 slow readers from the program’s 4th and 5th batches. Data were collected through the Dolch Basic Sight Vocabulary Test and students' English grades, analyzed using the correlated t-test to measure differences before and after the program. Results showed a 27.65% improvement in reading proficiency, with students advancing from Primer and 1st Reader to higher levels. English grades increased by 1.57%, moving from "Fairly Satisfactory" to "Satisfactory." Statistical analysis confirmed significant gains in both areas, demonstrating the program's effectiveness. The study concludes that the Cornerstone Reading Tutorial Program positively impacts students' reading and English skills. It recommends the program's continued implementation and expansion, highlighting the value of collaboration among educational institutions and community partners to address literacy challenges and support academic success.
