Article Processing Charge (APC) Policy for the Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Education
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Education (JISE), a flagship Scopus Q2 journal within the STAR Scholars Network, is committed to advancing high-quality, open-access scholarship across global communities. With a readership spanning 110 countries and a community of more than 20,000 members, JISE ensures that published research reaches a broad, diverse international audience.
To support essential editorial, technical, and production operations, a modest Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied only upon acceptance of a manuscript. There is no fee to submit.
APC Rates (Effective January 1, 2026)
- Student Authors (First Author Must Be a Student): US$100
- Faculty & Independent Scholars: US$500
- Grant-Funded Projects (e.g., NSF, NIH, Foundations): US$2,500

These fees cover peer-review administration, professional copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, digital preservation, indexing, and long-term open-access hosting.
Equity, Support, and Special Consideration
JISE strongly believes that financial limitations should not prevent authors from contributing to global scholarship. Therefore:
- Authors from the Global South, low-resource institutions, or those facing significant financial need may request discounts or partial waivers. Reviewers may receive credits towards their manuscript APC (**).
- All waiver or support requests are handled confidentially and do not influence editorial decisions.
- Partner institutions may qualify for reduced or waived APCs for their affiliated authors.
