Author Guidelines

Thank you for submitting to the Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Education. You will be asked to upload files, identify co-authors, and provide information such as the title and abstract.

Open Access

JISE supports open access. There are APC fees to institutions or individual authors, and authors starting January 1, 2026, are allowed to self-archive their work. Reproduction, posting, transmission or other distribution or use of the article or any material therein, in any medium as permitted by a personal-use exemption or by written agreement of the journal, requires credit to JISE as the copyright holder.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • Manuscripts containing more than 50% AI-generated text will be automatically declined, and authors are strongly encouraged to submit using this JISE Template.
  • Authors should upload two identical manuscript files: one containing complete author information and one fully anonymized version for double-blind peer review.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • Follow APA 7th edition in format and style.
  • Upload a copy of your data file (SPSS or interview coding). If there is no data file associated with your manuscript, you may upload a statement indicating that you did not use any data file.
