Complaints and Appeals Policy

The Journal of Innovation in Academia (JINA) is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and ethical editorial and publication process.

Appeals

Authors may appeal an editorial decision, including rejection, by submitting a written appeal to the Editorial Office. An appeal should:

  • Clearly state the grounds for reconsideration.
  • Provide relevant evidence, clarification, or justification supporting the appeal.

Appeals will be reviewed by the Executive Editor or Editor-in-Chief and, where appropriate, by other members of the Editorial Board or independent reviewers. The journal will assess appeals objectively and independently of the original decision where reasonably possible.

The decision reached following an appeal will be considered final.

Complaints

Complaints concerning editorial procedures, peer review, and publication ethics should be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office.

JINA will:

  • Acknowledge receipt of the complaint.
  • Assess and investigate the matter fairly and impartially.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality throughout the process.
  • Communicate the outcome to the complainant within a reasonable timeframe.

If necessary, the journal will follow COPE procedures and may involve relevant institutions or third parties.
